The price depends on the length and shape of the vent, accessibility, lint condition, and job location.
Great Question! Other companies drill a hole in the dryer vent up in the attic, and insert a small air-pressure hose while the dryer is on to blow all the lint off the roof. This is the cheapest and fastest cleaning method usually offered at $99. The problems with this method:
They Do Not disassemble the Dryer from the Flex Duct to ensure there is no blockage at the bottom due to the low airflow generated by the dryer while cleaning.
The low air pressure can only blow any loose particles and will not remove old and heavy layers of lint.
There is no way to determine the quality of the job. Is it 100% clean or 50%?
A clean duct enables lint to travel through the duct until it is safely extracted. This will also increase energy efficiency and dryer cleaning intervals. On the other hand, maintaining lint and other residues in the duct increases friction which causes new light to get stuck on top of older layers resulting in more frequent cleanups.
Air pressure can damage old duct tape and cause air leakage in the attic.
Lint blown off the roof can get stuck in the gutter and block it. (will you climb up the ladder to check after them?
